The measurement of the transmission components using a CNC machining center during the machining of parts.
|
|
The task:
- The exact positioning of assorted non-defined forged transmission parts, which are placed and fed into position by a chain driven conveyor system.
- The transfer of parts to a CNC machining center.
The machine vision system must provide data for the exact positioning (tolerance to 4/10 mm) and rotational orientation (to 1 degree tolerance) for the correct uptake of work pieces situated on the CNC machining center. Measurement is only possible with incident light. However, difficult component geometries and surfaces make the development of special lighting a necessity.
|
The benefits:
-
Avoids expensive damage to machining tools
- Avoids costly waste due to inaccurate handling of components
- Avoids downtimes and the necessity of new machine setup
Employed components:
- Specially developed IP67-compatible camera and lighting setup.
- PICTOR®
- Entocentric VCN series objective
