Open CV now running on all VC Smart Cameras
Image processing expert Vision Components has adapted the open source program library OpenCV to its proprietary VCRT operating system, im-plementing it on all VC Smart Cameras. OpenCV was originally developed by Intel® and published under a BSD license, running only on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems. Integrating it into Smart Cameras has increased their application range, since OpenCV includes many algorithms enabling, for instance, movement detection, facial recognition, object tracking, contour processing and image segmentation.

The fast image processing library complements VC Smart Cameras, which in-dependently execute all image processing routines thanks to their integrated intelligence, thus replacing standard PC-based systems. The compact cameras are suitable for industrial environments and incorporate all components required for image processing: image sensor, processor, frame grabber, interfaces and several PLC I/Os.

Pattern Matching: Contour-based object recognition with VC Smart Finder

The software allows users to identify structures by means of preset patterns, e.g. bottle labels and complex compo-nents. The real-time program, which operates with subpixel accuracy, ensures high-speed processes: it recognizes between 10 and 100 objects per second at a 640 x 480 Pixel resolution. Object recognition is not influenced by rotational position, object size or illumination. Moreover, the software reliably recognizes objects which are occluded by up to 80%. An intuitive, easy-to-use teach-in option allows users to include new objects.


MV Nova machine vision Script-language

Based on the principle of scripting, MVNova is an easy to learn but yet very powerful programming language, targeted at machine vision application builders. By offering a wide range of 'ready to use' machine vision script functions, MVNova paves the way towards the quick implementation of both simple and more complex machine vision tasks. Optimized for speed and memory usage, MVNova is designed to get the most out of the extensive range of powerful, intelligent cameras available from Vision Components.

This presentation will demonstrate a combination in ease of use and high level application solving capabilities. MVNova will prove itself to be the best choice, not only for the many simple machine vision tasks but also complex machine vision applications, for which PC based technology was the natural choice, lie well within the scope of MVNova.


EyeSpector: doubleclick to the  image processing solution
With the EyeSpector systems it is even possible to realize with some mouse clicks complex machine vision solutions. The FUI of the EyeSpector software EyeVision runs under the standard operating systems Win 2K, XP and VISTA and enables the user in its familiar environement to program smart cameras. After the test program is clicked together only a click to the button synchronize is neccessary to run the program on the smart camera EyeSpector. The user doesn't need anything to know about smart cameras and their programming.

In less then 10 minutes based on the installation of the EyeVision software on the PC the user can realize it's first machine vision solution for smart cameras. Additional features, like to store images in a database and the offline programming without the connected camera are offered from the EyeVision software. With the powerful command set of the EyeVision software for measurement, object detection and inspection, color control and code reading like DMC, barcode or OCR the software offers for nearly all machine vision tasks the right commands to make a solution within minutes.

Caminax: Smart Vision - Easier than ever
Caminax is user-friendly. Caminax comes with an own graphical interface. The inspection task is configured simply and intuitively with the well thought-out user guidance. You can keep your notpad on the desk to configure Caminax in production.

Caminax is ready to use. Keypad, video display, 24 V - Let's go. Caminax is configured in production using just a keypad and any VGA video display. Once configured, Caminax starts to measure as soon as it is power supplied.

Caminax is as powerful as PC based vision systems. Caminax comes with a C-Mount lens adapter and is able to use telecentric measurement lenses.
Caminax is a precise measurement tool for for lengths, distances and diameters using its calibration feature. Caminax supports complex regions of interst (ROIs) and it has smart tracking features. Caminax subpixeling algoritms are precise and Ethernet data exchange is possible. Thus, vision tasks needing a PC based vision system before are solved using Caminax now.

Caminax is as reliable as sensors. Caminax hasn't any mechanically moving parts. Cooled cabinets, blocked fan filters, defect hard disk dives - these terms do not exist in the world of Caminax. Caminax stands for highest reliability, small dimensions, and low operational costs - just like a sensor.
