Problem description
For the production of chocolate, the confectionary industry uses many mould designs. Melted chocolate is poured into the moulds, allowed to cool and to solidify, before being removed from the mould and then packaged. Before the moulds are filled, it has to be verified that the moulds are completely free from any chocolate remnants, such as broken pieces, splashes etc. Bi-Ber systems can inspect for such contamination by using image processing technology.

Inspection of inside threads, contact-free and in real time.
The visual control system takes into consideration the whole of the inside thread. By default, control takes place at four analysis windows, orientated at 90 degree angles to one another, over the total thread length. The system inspects the integrity and regularity of the thread length. Accordingly, the position and number of analysis windows can be adjusted to suit the tolerances for each required thread type.

Control of a 60 tonne foundry crane as it drains liquid metal into the cast iron moulds. Metal which drains out next to the mould must first solidify and cool down before it can be removed and recycled using cutting torches. The ambient temperature is 450 degrees Celsius.
