Short time cycles: Capping montage control of SMD-Diodes |
|
 |
The task:
Sensitive SMD-diodes, bonded to a lead frame, are finally capped before completion. In the course of this, the form must be completely coated with epoxy resin. A lead frame contains 72 diodes before being cut. The inspection time corresponds to 250 ms for 24 diodes. Abnormal diodes are identified, and their position is sent to a SPS unit that is linked to the cutting device for subsequent isolation. The sorting out of good from bad diodes then takes place at an additional location. For these processes, three Smart Cameras are in operation.
|
The advantages:
- Manual operators are replaced. This leads to a reduction in human error which may occur as workers become tired and lose concentration.
- Reliable elimination of defective diodes
- Higher output is possible through quicker time cycles
Employed components:
- 3 PICTOR®
Smart Cameras
- Diffused VICOLUX®-lighting
- Entocentric VCN-series objective
