Vision Components® celebrated “Smart Vision Days”

On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, Vision Components® invited users, cus-tomers and prospective customers to a celebration at Ettlingen Castle on June 13, 2006. The company presented a series of lectures about Smart Camera applications and offered basic seminars on image processing. Michael Engel, founder and managing director of Vision Components®, held a press conference in which he gave an overview of the company's development and answered questions about the company structure, technological developments and market trends. More than 80 guests took part in the informative event. An in-house exhibition about the latest developments in image processing also attracted much interest.

On June 14, Vision Components® offered a guided tour of the company's facili-ties and the camera production line at Fieger Elektronic GmbH. The celebration concluded with a visit of the exhibition “The Algorithmic Revolution – On The History Of Interactive Art” at Karlsruhe's Center for Art and Media.

New high-performance camera VC4466

The first model of the new VC44xx camera series – the VC4466 – is available from now on. Due to their improved specifications, the intelligent cameras are suitable even for highly demanding applications. All VC44xx models incorporate the latest Texas Instruments DSP generation (1 GHz, 8,000 MIPS) and feature an RS232 and an Ethernet interface as well as an external trigger input that enables jitter-free image recording even at high reading frequencies. The VC4466 has a 1/3" CCD sensor with a 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution and a maxi-mum frame rate of 30 fps (60 fps in binning mode). The basic versions are equipped with 4 MB Flash EPROM and 64 MB SDRAM for program and picture storage, which can be optionally extended to 128 MB. Just like their predeces-sor models, the new cameras have a direct video output, four digital PLC inputs and four digital outputs.
