The measurement of the transmission components using a CNC machining center during the machining of parts.
The task:
- The exact positioning of assorted non-defined forged transmission parts, which are placed and fed into position by a chain driven conveyor system.
- The transfer of parts to a CNC machining center.
The machine vision system must provide data for the exact positioning (tolerance to 4/10 mm) and rotational orientation (to 1 degree tolerance) for the correct uptake of work pieces situated on the CNC machining center. Measurement is only possible with incident light. However, difficult component geometries and surfaces make the development of special lighting a necessity.

Assembly control of Carburettor Throttle Valves |
The task:
Throttle valves are assembled from stacks of components using Scara Robots. The throttle values must first be verified and matched-up to corresponding carburettor body. This is especially important, since hundreds of combinations possible. Before the valves are fitted, the position of the slotted-axel needs to be inspected, so that the throttle valve can be pushed into position without problem.

Robotics: Spot-Welding Inspection/ Dimension Tolerance Inspection of Body-Work Build Components |
The task:
Measurement of bluntly-welded bolts on body work assembly parts; an emphasis of the welding position and quality is placed. The BVSystem is directly situated on the welding head of the robotic arm, which contributes to a compact design.

Smart camera helps with tyre handling |
Task:
For a well-known car tyre producer, the process for transporting the tyres to a position for quality control inspection was optimised. The tyres, which are stapled on palettes, are grabbed in the middle by a robot arm which itself it pneumatically stretched into position. Such tyres, initially stapled by hand, are frequently piled up unevenly, or even lob-sided. In this case, an important requirement is that the robot is still able recognise the best position to pick up the tyre.

Fully Automatic Greenhouse Systems |
Task:
The Holland-based Sedeco Vision Components have developed an inspection system which is able to fully automatically sort coconut palms according to size and quality. The technology has seen real application at gardening centres. Inspection is able to look at the growth process starting from germinating buds to approx. 1 ½ m high plants. The inspection system is based on a VC2065/EC camera, which, in addition, is also able to register plants that have become ill.
