Electrode Monitoring |
A critical element in the production of molten steel remains the ignition of the electric arc between the graphite electrode and the molten metal. For the optimisation of this process, the level of burn off and the quality of the remaining graphite electrode can be monitored with an intelligent camera system which is situated between the two processes. With up to 100,000 Amps and 1,200 Volts, the immediate area of this reaction is burdened with a high amount of electromagnetic disturbance. Accordingly, we employ an intelligent camera that is insensitive to these conditions and is able to communicate test data via a 100 meter long fiber optics cable to a SPS device. |

Embossing Inspection |
By using a special technique, the VE 4000 OCV/2 system is well-suited for embossing inspection. Embossing is an inherently difficult process to control, as there is practically no contrast difference to the background layer. However, our system is operational even in the face of such challenges. For example, products which contain embossed markings can be controlled with 100 % certainty up to a production speed of 600 units per minute.

Labelling Control |
The product is automatically labelled and packaged. Our vision system is able to check labels on product boxes, before they are moved by robots to containers for delivery. In addition, the product boxes (max. 90 boxes per minute) can be separated, inspected and, if need be, sorted out from the rest. |

Exact Measuring: Concentricity measurements of Turned and Milled Parts |
The task: a compact bench-top device that allows an inner and outer concentricity measurement (i.e. two varying diameters) for each turned part. The required diameter can be set by altering two different user settings. Parts can be mounted manually.
The advantages
-
Simple part positioning (plan view), so that the part does not have to be rotated.
-
Allows for a simple method to certify product quality; other commercially available methods are considerably more time consuming and complex.
