Combined with a DataMatrix code reader, intelligent cameras from Vision Components® can identify two-dimensional codes which are, for example, printed on pharmaceutical drug packaging. Depending on the camera type, the new program version DataMatrix 4.2, which is available from now on, enables up to 100 readings per second. This improvement was made possible by the integration of the fast library softwary FASTlib.

Another add-on is the new IMG 3.C tool for cameras without a video output (e.g. the VCSBC4018), which en-ables the live transfer of images to a connected PC. Registered users can download a demo version at www.vision-components.com. Additionally, the new operating system VCRT 5.23 is available for all camera types with DSPs from Texas Instruments. The feature list includes many im-provements, such as support for high-capacity storage media: with the new OS version, Media Cards up to 1 GB can be used to store data (pictures, readings etc.).
