Trade show eyecatcher: Smart Camera controls foosball goalkeeper

At this year's VISION trade show, image processing expert Vision Components® presented new, high-performance VC44xx camera models and an intelligent line scan camera, both of which attracted a lot of attention. Vision Components® also hosted several well- attended seminars offering product information and an introduction to Smart Camera programming. 

Furthermore, the trade show presentation included a foosball competition which illustrated the capabilities of Smart Cameras. At a modified foosball table with only two goal-keepers, visitors were able to aim at the opposite goal whose keeper was controlled by an intelligent VC4038E camera and an ECOSTEP motor from Jenaer Antriebstechnik. There was a rush of people trying to score against the fast camera-controlled goalie, but only few succeeded.

Vision Components® will exhibit at the 2007 VISION trade show, which will take place at the new exhibition center near Stuttgart airport for the first time.
