VisiCube: Compact high-performance smart vision sensor
Vision Components®' new VisiCube camera, which measures only 65 x 45 x 45 mm and weighs 170g, provides a highly compact image processing solution for industrial environments. With a wider performance range than conventional vision sensors, the intelligent cameras carry out sensor-like tasks and execute all image processing routines without an additional PC. They thereby enable automation in applications where conventional, PC-based image processing systems are too costly or too complicated to implement. VisiCube Smart Cameras feature a 400 MHz (3,200 MIPS) processor from Texas Instruments and will be available from mid-April 2007.
