Intelligent cameras of the VC Base+ and VC BoardCam series with 2.2 and 4.2 megagpixel sensors from CMOSIS

2.2 and 4.2 megagpixel sensors from CMOSIS are now also employed by the VC Base+ and VC BoardCam series. These sensors provide both high resolution and high frame rates, are very light-sensitive, and deliver an excellent image quality.

They feature a global shutter, a fast trigger mode, and a triggered linescan mode that allows for frame rates up to 18 kHz. The CMOSIS-based cameras are therefore suited for use as line scan cameras in high-speed applications and OEM machine vision.

Measuring 2/3", the 2.2 megapixel sensor can record up to 46 images/sec at full resolution (2,048 x 1,088 pixels). By means of a freely programmable ROI setting, it can also support the FullHD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, or reach a frame rate of 320 images/sec at VGA resolution.

Measuring 1", the 4.2 megapixel sensor provides big pixels and is especially light-sensitive and low-noise. At full resolution (2,048 x 2,048 pixels), it can record 23 images/sec.

In addition to high-speed tasks, typical applications are industrial image processing, traffic monitoring, 3D scans, motion surveillance, automotive applications, barcode and OCR recognition, and microscopy.
