VC Smart Cameras with ARM technology and VC LINUX operating system

The VC Smart Cameras are based on the Zynq® Dual Core ARM CortexTM-A9 with 2 x 866 MHz and integrated FPGA from Xilinx®.

As with all VC Smart Cameras, these processors provide the necessary computing capacity to achieve VC standards: Extreme high-speed in realtime.

The ARM/Linux Smart Cameras are ideally suited for use in indurstry but of course also for other applications. For applications with rough environmental conditions a protective housing is available.

For 3D applications the board cameras are available as stereo vision versions with 2 external sensor boards. Several CMOS sensors and resolutions are included in the product range. 

VC Linux operating system takes care of hard- and software interaction.

And, last but not least, the Z models provide a special feature: On request, the FPGA can be programmed to achieve a considerable speed boost. With that, the image processing can be executed up to 20 times faster than without FPGA support.

Housed cameras

All VC Z series models, that are available as board cameras, are also available with housings. According to their requirements, users can choose between two different options:

  • The usual nano housing of the  VC nano Z series: A proven housing, that excels in light weight and small dimensions as well as easy to intgerate. The status LEDs are freely programmable and arrange for additional ease of use.
  • The special IP67 protective housing of VC pro Z series: Another well-proven housing, that additionally can be equipped with the correspondent lens and IR illumation after your demands.

VC nano Z VC nano Z

The new VC nano Z Smart Cameras come with the well-proven nano housing, thus, they provide the same I/Os. With their tiny size and field-tested connections they easily can be integrated into existing machines.


The inside is completely new designed and based on the VCSBC nano Z. And like all Z models, 5 different CMOS sensors from CMOSIS, Aptina and e2v as well as several resolutions can be selected.


To maximize the hardware performance, the FPGA can be programmed additionally. This can increase the speed by ten times, in comparison to not using the FPGA. Several FPGA packs will be available soon.

The inside is completely new designed and based on the VCSBC nano Z. And like all Z models, 5 different CMOS sensors from CMOSIS, Aptina and e2v as well as several resolutions can be selected.

The VC pro Z series provides the optimal protection for all applications in rough environment: Housing and M12 connectors conform to IP67 protection class. Additionally, single components are selectable: The embedded system can be delivered with integrated lens and/or high power LED lighting, if requested. 

Basis for the VC pro Z cameras is the board camera version VCSBC nano Z. Like all other Z models, users have the service option to boost the already enormous performance by a multiple.
