VC Smart Cameras with ARM technology and VC LINUX operating system
The VC Smart Cameras are based on the Zynq® Dual Core ARM CortexTM-A9 with 2 x 866 MHz and integrated FPGA from Xilinx®.
As with all VC Smart Cameras, these processors provide the necessary computing capacity to achieve VC standards: Extreme high-speed in realtime.
The ARM/Linux Smart Cameras are ideally suited for use in indurstry but of course also for other applications. For applications with rough environmental conditions a protective housing is available.
For 3D applications the board cameras are available as stereo vision versions with 2 external sensor boards. Several CMOS sensors and resolutions are included in the product range.
VC Linux operating system takes care of hard- and software interaction.
And, last but not least, the Z models provide a special feature: On request, the FPGA can be programmed to achieve a considerable speed boost. With that, the image processing can be executed up to 20 times faster than without FPGA support.
All VC Z series models, that are available as board cameras, are also available with housings. According to their requirements, users can choose between two different options:
The new VC nano Z Smart Cameras come with the well-proven nano housing, thus, they provide the same I/Os. With their tiny size and field-tested connections they easily can be integrated into existing machines.
The inside is completely new designed and based on the VCSBC nano Z. And like all Z models, 5 different CMOS sensors from CMOSIS, Aptina and e2v as well as several resolutions can be selected.
To maximize the hardware performance, the FPGA can be programmed additionally. This can increase the speed by ten times, in comparison to not using the FPGA. Several FPGA packs will be available soon.
