Laser Scanners for 2D/3D profile measurements and industrial applications
For numerous industrial applications, our laser profilers can record data and transfer the triangulation result directly to a central controller – an external PC is not required. Powerful FPGAs in combination with a dual-core ARM processor, which can be used for the specific application tasks, provide the necessary computing power.
The VC nano 3D-Z can not only evaluate the scanned 3D profiles, but also the 2D grey scale image, e.g. to detect defects in the surface. This makes the profile sensors suitable for a wide range of applications and at the same time impresses with a favourable price-performance ratio.
Alternatively, the 3D point clouds and image data captured by the nano 3D-Z can also be analysed on an external PC and with existing applications.

Technologies for reliable 2D/3D measurement results
Advanced Temperature Stability Technology
The laser profilers feature our specially developed Advanced Temperature Stability Technology (ATS). It improves temperature stability, using high-performance materials for the components.
Ambient Light Suppression Technology
The ‘Ambient Light Suppression Technology’ (ALST) developed by us makes the blue laser line of the VC nano 3D-Z always visible. Measurements with the profile sensors are possible even in ambient light levels of up to 100,000 lux. The high insensitivity to ambient light is based on the combination of an extremely powerful laser and very short shutter speeds.

Frequently Asked Questions about Laser Profilers (2D/3D)
Do you have further questions?
What is a Laser Profiler?
What is a Laser Profiler?
A laser profiler is a measuring device that is used to record and analyze height profiles and surface structures of objects. It enables detailed, usually non-contact measurement of the shape, height, width and other geometries of an object. 2D/3D profile sensors are also known as laser profile sensors, laser triangulation sensors or laser scanners.
How do Laser Profilers work?
How do Laser Profilers work?
Laser Profilers use laser triangulation and cameras to capture the height profile of an object: a laser beam is projected onto the surface of an object and a camera captures the reflected points of light. The position of these points in the camera, depending on the angle, gives the height of the point on the surface.
What are 2D/3D Laser Profilers used for?
What are 2D/3D Laser Profilers used for?
Laser Profilers are often used in industrial areas such as quality assurance, mechanical engineering and production technology. Examples include angle measurement in metal processing , robot guidance or portioning in the food industry.
